Description:
Peter is a young boy growing up on a struggling farm. One day, while out doing chores for his father, he spots a curious white stick floating in the stream — and reaching out to grab it leads him to an unexpected new friend. Everyone in the village dismisses Ninnyhammer as the local simpleton, but Peter senses there's far more to him. In fact, Ninnyhammer is a magician, and that white stick is his magic wand. Grateful to have it returned, he begins working wonders on the family farm: the sow has more piglets, the corn grows faster, and the hens lay twice as many eggs. But Peter longs to repay his kind friend. Can it really be right that Ninnyhammer must sleep in a hole alongside foxcubs — and can Peter convince his dad to help? A heartwarming, gently magical farmyard tale from the beloved author of The Sheep-Pig.
