One Fine Day

By   Nonny Hogrogian

Age Group: 3 - 6 Years

Description:

One fine day, a thirsty fox trots out of the great forest and spots a pail of milk left by an old woman. Unable to resist, he laps it all up—only to be caught in the act! The furious woman chops off his tail and refuses to sew it back on until he replaces every drop of milk he stole. So begins the fox's busy day of bargaining: from the cow to the meadow, the miller to the merchant, each one he asks demands something in return before they'll help. Round and round the fox goes, trading one favour for the next, until at last he can make things right and win back his beloved tail.

A warm, lively retelling of a much-loved Armenian folktale, told with the catchy rhythm of a nursery rhyme and richly illustrated by the author. Winner of the Caldecott Medal. Ages 3+.
